Buddy D Tribute Parade

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

For those of you who missed the Buddy D drag parade in honor of the Saints' Super Bowl appearance, here you go ...

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS . . .

February 7, 2010 will forever go down in history as a truly remarkable, unforgettable moment – at least for us diehard NEW ORLEANS SAINTS fans. We always BELIEVED that our winning moment would come & it couldn’t have come at a better time. For all of the turmoil the city has gone through since Hurricane Katrina ripped the heart out of it – for all of the problems the city has had with crime, corruption and dirty politics – we can now breathe a collective sigh of relief, if only for a moment.

The French Quarter and points beyond erupted in elation in the last few seconds of Sunday night’s Super Bowl. Super Bowl 44 will forever be marked by the poignancy and excitement the SAINTS’ win brought to Louisiana. It will forever be a source of pride and we will always cherish this victory. I believe only a true Louisianian can understand what this win means to us – not as SAINTS fans, but as Louisiana citizens.

Thank you Drew Brees. Thank you Tracy Porter. Thank you Sean Payton. Thank you Darren Sharper. Thank you Robert Meacham. Thank you Devery Henderson. Thank you Pierre Thomas. Thank you, Deuce. And yes, even a thank you goes out to Payton Manning. Sorry for your loss, buddy, but you couldn’t have done us a bigger favor. Thank you to all who truly believed that we would one day reach this milestone – a milestone that no naysayer can ever, ever take away from us.

GEAUX SAINTS! WHO DAT? WE DAT!
